What actually happens in the first session?

The first session is a chance to talk through what’s been bringing you to therapy and what you’re hoping for. There’s no pressure to explain everything or get it right. We’ll go at a pace that feels manageable, and you can ask questions at any point.

Do I need to know exactly what’s wrong before I start?

No. Many people start therapy feeling unsettled, overwhelmed or unsure rather than having a clear problem. Part of the work is making sense of things together, gradually and carefully.

I’m nervous about starting therapy — is that normal?

Accepted Answer

Yes — very normal. Feeling unsure, anxious or hesitant before reaching out is common. You’re not expected to feel confident or ready, only curious enough to explore whether this might help.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes — a 15-minute consultation by request. I don’t offer self-booking for first contact; instead, please email me so we can briefly explore what you’re looking for and whether I’m the right person to help.
