Transformative Therapy for
Adult Survivors of Childhood Trauma

A Quiet Recognition

You’re the strong one. The composed one. The one others lean on — even as something inside you aches for someone to lean back into. You know how to survive. How to carry on. How to perform what looks like peace.

But beneath the surface, there’s a silence that won’t stop humming. A grief you can’t name. A deep, almost sacred exhaustion.

You’ve tried the usual routes: the talking cures, the mindfulness apps, the well-meaning therapists who say the right things. But something in you remained untouched. Unseen. Unmet.

That part of you is welcome here.

What I Offer

A relational, trauma-informed approach that helps you:

  • Understand why survival became your default

  • Reconnect with your truest self—beneath the patterns

  • Rebuild from exhaustion into authentic living

Over 35 years, I’ve worked alongside people who knew something was off, yet couldn’t name it. Together, we translate old hurt into new purpose—and let the wound inform, not define

I don’t offer surface-level strategies or symptom management. I don’t do wellness trends or lunchtime psychology bites.

I offer depth. Stillness. And truth — spoken plainly, without flinching.

Who I Work With

I work with adults — often high-functioning, thoughtful, and emotionally intelligent — who:

  • Grew up in environments where emotional safety was absent or conditional

  • Have spent years performing stability for others

  • Find themselves exhausted by shallow conversation or unearned intimacy

  • Carry a complex relationship to strength, responsibility, and guilt

  • Are haunted by a grief they can’t explain

You may not have language for what you’re carrying. You just know it’s time.

Who I Am

I’m Jimi D Katsis— a consultant psychotherapist with 35 years’ experience in developmental trauma, attachment wounds and narrative repair.

But more importantly, I’m someone who has lived the cost of survival. I know what it means to lose what you love, to rebuild from ruin, and to find purpose in the ashes.

My work is grounded in truth, grief, compassion, and clarity. I don’t pathologise. I don’t diagnose unless asked. I meet you where you are, and I stay.

I don’t flinch. And I don’t pretend.

How This Works

Sessions are one-to-one, entirely confidential, and tailored to your pace. I have a base in Bristol, but i also work online, this is the primary way i work. I offer online therapy for those at a distance, and in-person work in my private practice — nestled in a quiet corner of the world.

This isn’t a programme. There’s no step-by-step. This is relational depth work. Sometimes poetic. Sometimes raw. Always real.

You don’t have to bring a polished version of yourself. You just have to show up

Whispers from the work

“I didn’t come to be fixed. I came to be witnessed. What happened here wasn’t therapy. It was truth made safe.”
“I didn’t realise how much of me was missing until I sat in that quiet room. The strength I performed for years — I finally laid it down.”
“He didn’t offer answers. He offered presence. And in that presence, I found the parts of me I thought were lost.”
